The PACT/R Data Archive currently includes about 20 datasets from prospective studies conducted in 4 countries, from 1999 to the present. These studies include data from more than 3100 individual children and adolescents (ages 2 and older) with a variety of types of exposure to acute trauma.
All datasets in the Archive have:
- data that were collected prospectively after acute trauma
- in children or adolescents (ages 0 through 21)
- who were identified based on their trauma exposure, not based on their development of post-trauma difficulties
- assessments of risk / protective factors and traumatic stress or related outcomes at a minimum of two time points
The most common trauma types currently represented in the Archive are injury, road traffic accidents, interpersonal violence, and acute illness. New datasets being added to the Archive include data from children exposed to these and other types of acute traumatic events, such as natural disasters.
